SSG (Ret.) Robert Eugene Dill was born July 10, 1969 to Jack and Mary Dill in Tacoma, Washington. Robert attended the San antonio public school system until the family moved to Alma, Michigan in 1985, there Robert would continue his education, graduating from Alma High School in 1988. In June of 1988, Robert enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, where he would spend the next four years performing as the Senior Food Management Non-Commissioned Officer in charge, overseeing the Food Service Operations, feeding over 150 Marines per meal per day.

SSG (Ret.) Robert Eugene Dill was born July 10, 1969 to Jack and Mary Dill in Tacoma, Washington. Robert attended the San antonio public school system until the family moved to Alma, Michigan in 1985, there Robert would continue his education, graduating from Alma High School in 1988. In June of 1988, Robert enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, where he would spend the next four years performing as the Senior Food Management Non-Commissioned Officer in charge, overseeing the Food Service Operations, feeding over 150 Marines per meal per day.

In April of 2006, Robert enlisted into the United States Army as a Food Service Specialists. Upon completion of Basic and Advanced Individual Training, Robert was stationed in Fort Polk, Louisiana, where he would spend the next three years assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 519th Military Police Battalion. In August of 2007, Roberts' hard work, attention to detail and Esprit De Corps, along with his never quit attitude, enabled him to quickly move up the ranks, he was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. Roberts' next assignment would take him overseas, assigned to the 557th Medical Support Battalion, Wiesbaden, Germany, where he worked as the lead office specialists, supervising three lower enlisted personnel, ensuring all documents, supplies and monies were in order.

In July of 2012, Robert was reassigned to the United States Army Garrison and Fort Hood, here his duties would include operational control of the Dining Facility, acting as the Noncommissioned Officer in Charge, responsible for the training, health and welfare of two soldiers, food preparation and sanitation, food service accounting procedures and vehicle preventive maintenance.

Including an additional 8 years with the National Guard, Robert proudly served for 23 total years in the Armed forces, earning him several awards and decorations which include the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal (2nd oak leaf cluster), Good Conduct Medal (5th oak leaf cluster), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Liberation of Kuwait, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Ribbon and the Expert Rifle Badge.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Jack in 1996. He is survived by his mother, Mary Dill, two sisters, Susan Dill and Kathleen Dill-Parsons, also, from Alma, MI. One brother-in-law, Jason Parsons, two nieces Kayla Dill (22) and Rylee Parsons (13) and one nephew, USMC Corporal, Maverick Sheets (22) also from Alma, MI.
