Mary (Sissy) went to be with the Lord, eight days before her 84th birthday. She was born and raised in Elmendorf, Texas to parents Robert and Mary Davis. She met and married Charles Sumner in October 1949 at Bellaire Baptist Church. His military career took them to various locations around the United States and the world. Mary (Sissy) went to be with the Lord, eight days before her 84th birthday. She was born and raised in Elmendorf, Texas to parents Robert and Mary Davis. She met and married Charles Sumner in October 1949 at Bellaire Baptist Church. His military career took them to various locations around the United States and the world. Sharing Christ with others was an integral part of their daily lives. Upon retirement from the military they settled in San Antonio where she was a minister's wife until Charles' passing.

She married Lester Clouse in November 2003 at Village Parkway Baptist Church. They enjoyed their home in Rio Frio. They looked forward to volunteering in the kitchen at Alto Frio Baptist Encampment during Senior Adult Camp. They also loved being on their back porch watching the peaceful Frio River flow by in the evenings.

She is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mary Davis, brother Emil Davis and husband Charles Sumner.

She is survived by her beloved husband Lester Clouse, brother Robert Davis and wife Diane, sister Annie Mae Pennington and husband Mike, sister Ethel Barlow, sister/daughter Patricia Corliss and husband James, stepson Dan Clouse and wife Adele; nieces Dee Ann Pennington, Jane Shackleford, Kim Farmer, Brenda Wells, and Donna Corliss-Morgan, nephews Michael Pennington and Jeffrey Corliss; step-grandchildren Katie, George, and Adele, 5 great nieces, 2 great nephews, 5 great-great nephews and 1 great-great niece; and many loving friends who were also considered part of the family.

She was loved by all and will be greatly missed by all.

Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home on Bandera Road on Monday, April 6, 2015 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 am on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Village Parkway Baptist Church, 3002 Village Parkway, 78251 with Rev. Steve Branson officiating. Interment will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
