Lieutenant Colonel Francis P. Sanna (USAF Ret.) was born July 25, 1922 in New Canaan, Connecticut, and died on March 24, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife Anne: his daughter Theresa, his son Mark and his wife Jeanne, his daughter Mary and her husband John, his son Luke and his wife Colleen, and his daughter Gesi and husband Andrew; his six grandchildren Mathew, Meredith, Sean, Brendan, Gabriella, and Cecilia; and his great grandchild Ella, along with his brother John Anthony Sanna, and his sisters Joann Rachel and Anna Jacobsen....

Lieutenant Colonel Francis P. Sanna (USAF Ret.) was born July 25, 1922 in New Canaan, Connecticut, and died on March 24, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. He is survived by his loving wife Anne: his daughter Theresa, his son Mark and his wife Jeanne, his daughter Mary and her husband John, his son Luke and his wife Colleen, and his daughter Gesi and husband Andrew; his six grandchildren Mathew, Meredith, Sean, Brendan, Gabriella, and Cecilia; and his great grandchild Ella, along with his brother John Anthony Sanna, and his sisters Joann Rachel and Anna Jacobsen. He is remembered for his commitment to Duty and Honor for God and Country; as well as being a genuine friend. Colonel Sanna's career spanned from WWII combat service in the Aleutians, and India to serving as a principal in developing the USAF logistical support for special weapons. He served as the Director Military Foreign Asset Exchange CINPAC and earned the Legion of Merit. Upon retirement, Frank enjoyed a second 25 year career with USAA Insurance. Frank was a member of The Military Order of World Wars, The San Antonio Retired Officers Association, and American Legion Post 10. A viewing will be held Tuesday evening at 6pm at Sunset Northwest Funeral home (6321 Bandera Rd) followed by the Rosary. The funeral mass will be said the following day at 10 am at St. Luke's Catholic Church (4603 Manitou Dr.). Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston Cemetery on Thursday April 2, 2015 at 10:45 am.
